Is that early Sulla?
No wonder 15-year-old Sulla is at the forefront of research. Brendan didn’t get Sterling where it is in 2021 single-handedly!
All this plus OPTIMAL leaves me *incredibly* psyched to see the Sulla-centered part of the story.
Anyone else notice that they just finished the last thing Al was working on? Immediately before the fight he was trimming the corner off of that component, and he mentioned refining the assembly.

Rereading the online version while my physical copies are in storage (this remains one of my all time favourite stories) and I only just caught the significance of the sofa bed – Brendan is still living in Al’s workshop, but he can’t bear to use the upstairs bedroom. As someone whose mum’s office has been untouched behind a closed door in my family home for the last 8 years, this hits me HARD.
