I think, after so many years, it’s very obvious that Brendan is in love with Al for who they are. After Brendan attempted to immortalize Al and Sulla came out to them, there’s no way he didn’t see this coming even a little bit.

Given that they’re still living together and behaving very amicably, I’m _pretty_ sure this relationship is only going to get better and healthier.
