I’m rereading this chapter and only just now did this page fully hit me with, yes, what you said.
Amusingly, I started following this comic thinking I was a cis (gay) woman, and recently figured out I am non-binary. I was completely blindsided by the Al reveal but the more I figure out about myself, the more things in this comic I pick up and understand and relate and go “oH, DUH *facepalm*” at. Including, yeah, this bit.
