Sulla recognizes she is her own person, that’s intriguing. Especially positioned against what she thinks Brendan wants or needs, and she’s young so doesn’t quite understand the complexity of Brendan’s feeling for her.
What makes her think any of the differences are her fault? :( That’s heartbreaking – role of nurture notwithstanding, they share a tendency to secretly believe they’re defective.
I think, that Bruce Lee said something like:
“You can never step on the same part of the river, twice.”
I think what he meant was- things always go on, and change, so you can never do something, or make something, exactly the same way,…twice.
I think that is one of the problems that Sulla found, when she, + others, made a [robot?] copy of Mr. Sterling: she made a copy of Mr. Sterling, but time has moved on, so he can’t react to stuff the way that the 1st Mr. Sterling did, many years ago.
Its sort of like- if Sulla had put Mr. Sterling in [suspended animation], 60 years ago.
If she then broke his suspended animation, today…she can’t expect him to function well with other people, or to know how to do [most people’s average tasks], now…, since all of the machines + art that he knew about, is now gone.
In my view- bring someone back from the past,…makes him a man, or a person, who is out of place.
P.s.- maybe Bruce Lee said, “a piece of water”, instead of, “a part the river”. I’m not sure about that.
Aaaah. Just binge read all the comic again from the start, it’s such a good re-read. So many things look different once we know… I’m in awe, Blue, you’re such a great story teller, thanks!
I really appreciated Sulla’s ark and was was wondering if you had crafted a special header for it too, since I only read these pages a couple days ago, it was back to blue skin + enhanced Al, so I wouldn’t know… I remember you posted the [orange + Brendan] skin in the extras page but can’t seem to find a green one…
Sorry for the bother
Yikes!
Cohorts!
Wow. Great sequence.

Nicely played
poor thing :(
I apprehend.

This is a very tender page but, also, I am very amused at Perhaps Tsade trying to hold Sulla’s item with their extremely geometric limbs.
Maybe Perhaps Tsade has hands like the Powerpuff Girls.
There appear to be finer manipulators at the ends of those limbs. Perhaps they retract when not in use?

From what I gather, I believe it was Heraclitus, rather than Bruce Lee. It’s a very fitting quote here, though.
Oops. Thanks. (Hee, hee, hee). :D
In ancient Greece, did Heraclitus do kung fu, too?
:D
He might have done! We know Plato was a wrestler.
Cool! Thanks, that’s cool to find out about.
Now, please- someone write a story,…or a film,…or a comic, where Plato does some country-boy rassling with Bruce Lee. I smell an oscar. :D

That age when you think that adults being unhappy sometimes is unusual or wrong…. And that it’s fixable.

This twist has *floored* me. Holy cow. So glad I started to catch up on this.
