In reply to Soupcan. As far as we've seen she's *always* used Brendan's first name versus "dad." The only person she called her father was Al, and that was just so she fit in with the other girls she met at the library.

So, the last page had Sulla call Brendan “Brendan.” Hasn’t she been calling him “dad” for the past 15 years? Now Al shows up and she calls HIM “dad”? No wonder Brendan’s speechless in the first panel.

Best way of making her suspicious. I wouldn’t blame her if she decided to listen in…especially since, from her vantage point, Brendan’s been acting oddly (coming home without Al, having somehow misplaced him?).

That said, well done to Brendan for continuing to keep the relationship a secret, as per Al’s apparent wishes.
