Best way of making her suspicious. I wouldn’t blame her if she decided to listen in…especially since, from her vantage point, Brendan’s been acting oddly (coming home without Al, having somehow misplaced him?).
That said, well done to Brendan for continuing to keep the relationship a secret, as per Al’s apparent wishes.
I suppose you simply cannot tell a highly empathic robot girl to just go watch TV for a while or play the ipad in the den and expect she’ll be happily distracted.
So, the last page had Sulla call Brendan “Brendan.” Hasn’t she been calling him “dad” for the past 15 years? Now Al shows up and she calls HIM “dad”? No wonder Brendan’s speechless in the first panel.
As far as we’ve seen she’s *always* used Brendan’s first name versus “dad.” The only person she called her father was Al, and that was just so she fit in with the other girls she met at the library.
Which is exactly not what you say when you don’t want someone to worry. :-/
This could go one of two ways.

On one hand, I couldn’t blame her for being concerned, but on the other, it would be a violation of privacy.
“There isn’t anything to worry about” vs ” This isn’t anything you have to worry about”
