Days later and I can’t stop looking at what appears to be a triangle on a coin. Two of them. I know coins on graves is a longstanding tradition, but what? I did some research. It’s an AA coin signifying some amount of time (7 years? I can’t see the number) sober. ;______; Someone put their AA coin after a donation of an organ? A liver? After losing someone who donated their body to science? After killing someone who donated their body to science? There are lots of options and all of them are firming and heart breaking. World building, man, it’s the good shit.
Probably one of the more subtle, yet emotional pages of O Human Star. Love it.
Agreed. Really lovely.
G..Grandpa?
It’s a collective memorial of sorts, so it probably refers to someone else.
That explains why there are so many rocks and coins, as well… It turns out that I tragically missed a page.
Haha, I had the same reaction. I also missed the previous page. :P
:(

This is cool! I didn’t glance at it long enough to notice that in context it probably isn’t the Deathly Hallows. :D
I thought the same thing at first, but AA’s logo is a triangle inside a circle, not the other way ’round.
On AA tokens there is usually a circle inside the triangle with a number indicating the current length of sobriety.
he drives a volt. HE DRIVES A VOLT. oh my god I think this is the first time I’ve ever recognized a car in any sort of popular medium.
concerningly, he appears to drive without a seatbelt.
I don’t know how I’ve managed to read the whole comic without tearing up until this page, but this did it…
Congratulations on a superb story, Blue! I am amazed at how relatable your characters are. And the artwork is gorgeous!
