P.S. This Jewish reader at least is squee-ing a bit over how well-done the background cultural research is. I don’t know whether this is true of other minority groups, but from a religious standpoint it’s really easy to become accustomed to representation being either a) absent, b) superficial, c) clumsy or full of stereotypes, and/or d) overstated gratuitously in a way that suggests wanting to preach diversity more than truly capture it. OHS is a lovely example of none of the above; like non-fictional people, the characters just happen to come from a range of backgrounds and act and think accordingly. Kudos.
