Cutie face, baby Sulla.
Oooooh… Wonder who the “fan” is who released the files? I see two or three suspects right in this strip. The more I see of Lucille, though, the less I think she did it…or maybe she’s just good at acting.
Fascinating. It’s interesting to see Brendan hint that he’s ben wrangling with the ethics. His was a desperate, understandable act that (unintentionally) created Sulla. But but but. He’s probably questioning whether there’s hypocrisy here.
Lucille’s very sharp and has a way of seeing through things. Bet she’s wondering ‘has he tried anything like this?’, and bet she’s not doing it for the first time either.
I wonder if we’re seeing the beginning of the explanation for Menacing Black Square. So many riveting things going on here. One of the things this strip does well is to set the scene for intense interestingness and then resists the urge to get to it immediately.
Ow ow ow. The framing on this, never seeing Brendan’s face–right in the feels, man.
Brendan and Lucille’s friendship is interesting. Like, to be honest, at first, she had a tendency to seem rather inconsiderate of Brendan’s feelings sometimes or frosty, but I think now that maybe she just knows him enough to not dote on him. Maybe Brendan prefers a more straightfoward approach, given I’m sure he got his fill of the doting and the “if you ever need anything”, so on and so forth.
Love your stuff so bad. Thanks
“He seemed to understand sometimes a face can’t be mass produced.”
Tell that to EA and every other developer making sports video games that reuse real player likenesses.
…
Actually no, please tell them. If we start having faces scanned to produce *bump maps* for video game faces too, it’s going to be a even more creepy in terms of in becoming a celebrity, you no longer own your own face.
Ugh…. My own heart hurts in empathy for Brendan everytime Al comes up.
