That’s correct. That story can still be found in Beyond, and it’s been reproduced in OHS Volume 2 as well.
We’ll be approaching that part of the timeline again soon, although it’ll probably feel different. Partly because that original comic’s a few years old now and partly because we’ll be viewing it from a different perspective this time.

A bit of her transition experience is featured in “Optimal”, a story about Sulla Blue D. wrote for the Beyond Anthology, if I’m not mistaken!

I saw that, too. It’s really well done, and it had to be intentional. Panel three makes me want to give Sulla a big hug. I would love to see the joy on her face after she first transitions. I don’t know if we will ever see it as it is so personal and comes into the same realm Lucille’s back story for how she ended up missing legs and part of an arm. It would be cool to know, but is it really our business? Those are such interesting and powerful back stories, but keeping them private can show respect for the characters—and the real life people who are like them. But at the same time, I can see how some people could find them educational and empowering, too.

I had the exact same reaction. I bet it’s intentional – really nicely done.

Not to mention putting those touches in just the right points in the story. Spectacular work. Panel 3 is crushing. I remain in awe of your talent as an artist and storyteller.

Intentional or not, it’s a great metaphor!

Yeah, I realize it’s a reflection – I just think having it distorted like that is a pretty clever way of representing her dysphoria, especially since it’s looking in the reflection that seems to cause her discomfort in panel three. If that’s all intentional of course
