Perhaps the reason she doesn’t use her words is because she’s not keen on her current voice: Vocal dysmorphia wouldn’t be that unexpected a situation. When she grows up a little, she gets to choose her voice more, and make it sound like herself.

I thought similar nose wasn’t only caused by proto-sulla choosing it, but also by Brendan. It’s a team effort.

Not just a parental response, but an amazing one. He’s doing a wonderful job considering he’s essentially a single parent in charge of a brand new being the world has yet to see. He’s not always available (something difficult as you are the sole parent and breadwinner), but he is still consistent yet kind and patient with her. Not everyone has that ability to relate to kids that way—even in the best of situations.

Nature versus nurture. Brendan is a good daddy.

Heh! Am being reminded of Al going, “She certainly talks more than I do…”

I find it really interesting how different she is in the “present” time. She’s very chatty compared to her young self.

If proto-Sulla had a hand in specifying that, it might well speak to traces of memory beyond the merely procedural. Fascinating.

Also fascinating is that we haven’t yet seen proto-Sulla talk, but we have seen a lot of effective nonverbal communication.

The world changed a lot since Al died. And, this right here, if I understand the universe right, is when and where the world changed. It’s very big story told from an intimate perspective. I’ve got to get some print copies to support the effort that goes into telling the story.

Such a parental response, too. The whole thing.

That is where babies come from.
