I keep tearing up at the pages with little toddler!Sulla and Brendan, even the somewhat unnerving moments of her birth, because she really is both of their kid, isn’t she? Brendan’s the grieving partner who has to raise this little person who reminds him so much of the person he loved – and it’s so heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. I can’t stop crying through this whole section.

Hah! I know this one. to paraphrase from memory the next part goes something like.
“I’m still me! Only- only that is…”

“You’re exactly the same.” exclaimed Jack, “Only just completely different!”
And everyone agreed it was the cleverest thing the Pumpkinhead had ever said.

I must have read it a thousand times. All the oz books. But it was years and years before I knew how to sam i was a boy just yet. To a little baby trans, what a light, what a beacon is even the smallest flitter of recognition.
