He looks so tired. Looks like he gets those lines under his eyes after Brendan dies? Maybe?
“collaborator”… ;_;
and we know Brendan told NO ONE… He accepted all those words of condolences and comfort without being able to say that Al was SO MUCH MORE THAN THAT to him… ;__;
It took me a moment to realize why Brendan stands out here so much – his face and shirt are /grey/, no red tones like the rest of the panels. He’s washed out, a ghost of himself. ;-;
Just in case we didn’t notice, Blue’s included an old photo for us.
Gone is Brendan’s flamboyant suit-vest that Al hated so much, and decried as “fruity”. Brendan’s wearing a plain black shirt, no tie, no vest, no jacket. Maybe it’s black for mourning, but it’s also exactly what Al wore. Maybe it’s both.
This just broke my heart.
This exactly. Black for mourning, black as an unspoken tribute to Al, black as a reflection of his current mental state……the symbolism is strong.
And the second to last panel D:
I just want to give Brendan a hug. :(
Mr. Sterling’s.. ..Collabourator.
Colonel Lee seems to have had a real boner for Alastair, huh?
Brendan in 3rd panel… so much emotion :(
My heart is broken. Blue has such a way with the paneling and coloring on this page.
