It looks like he would have had to fold himself in half to step out of it.

I did notice the ‘little sea captain’s’ eyes go a bit wide when he heard Brendan calling to Al, I think he’s putting the pieces together.

Possibly? He also picks at his shirt a lot, so maybe it is nervous fiddling, but we also can’t discount that there’s some kind of carryover from his original illness… given how close he is to his “original” version, anyway…

in one of the earlier flashbacks it’s revealed that he has scars on his upper arms, possibly self-inflicted. I’m guessing that’s why he scratches them when stressed.

… of course, this body has no such scars, unless they were replicated along with everything else.

Seems to me that it’s like a coping mechanism. He thinks he screwed up, bigtime, because his actions led to Sulla unintentionally revealing she’s not a human being.
