Page 67. Al did not set aside enough spoons for this.
You may have noticed that the site looks slightly different! I updated WordPress this past week and tried to iron most of the kinks, but if something looks amiss, let me know.
A few other things! I have an O Human Star side comic about Lucille in the Oath anthology that’s on Kickstarter right now! So go give that a look.
I also found out last week that O Human Star was nominated for an Ignatz Award as Outstanding Online Comic, which is huge. All SPX attendees are eligible to vote, so if you’re attending next month, vote for me!
Beat Rochi to it! Oh man, I dunno why the image of Lucielle driving a van popped into my head, but I find it awesome! Congrats on the nomination!
I just looked at the page again. Oh gosh! Al’s face in the last panel kills me! I love it!
I can see it now: “Can I talk to you in the kitchen for a minute… NOW?”
Oh, Al, Al, Al….
Al’s face XD He looks like hes so done with everyone who is in his house.
I, too, adore the more-than-doneness of his face. :D
He either looks done or like the guest just dragged in that new – van smell and he knows it’s not going to leave the carpets any time soon.
I like the guest designs! But they need to leave now.
The site looks great! However, the RSS feed now only shows a really small version of the comic, so I need to click through to read it. That’s fine of course, but I used to not do that, most of the time.
This is the price Al pays for letting his army contacts think he was the brains of the operation.
Ohhhh now I DEFINITELY see women in the room that arent carrying a tray. Such a nice change from old stuffy white dudes. Nice one!!!
This will backfire badly… each of them think they are doing something in benefit of the other, and instead they are only aggravating each other. It’s very sad, actually.
Poor Al…
Brendan… what the hell. You know you are going to get it. “Easier to ask for forgiveness than permission”, hm?
“Easier to ask for forgiveness than permission”← _ ← Can’t agree more. o(* ̄▽ ̄*)ブ (cheers
I’m curious about what’s gonna happen. =v=
If this is an actual spoons situation that’s pretty shitty (knowingly or not) of Brendan. Being out of social spoons is a serious thing.
Love the comic and hope that the update is working well. I do notice that the RSS feed has changed and the comic now is just a thumbnail. Prior to this comic i could read the comic in my RSS feed but now, I cannot. If the purpose was to drive people to the site, it does force people to do that, but it is more time consuming to read the comic :-(
Looking forward to see how Al evolves to deal with people getting involved with his stuff!
I think I’ve fixed the problem. This may have been a setting that got reset during the WordPress update, but the thumbnail image wasn’t ideal for my Patreon reader either, so thanks for pointing out the issue.
Oh, well the RSS works just fine for me! Whatever you did, it seems to be successful!
Hey hey! (Long-time reader but I don’t comment much.)
Since you said you said to let you know if anything looked amiss – I’m viewing on Chrome with a Mac, and the header looks a little off. I assume you want the blue part of the image lined up with the blue background? Looks maybe 50px or so off for me, with the black in the background starting too high up.
Suuuper minor nitpick, because it doesn’t hamper my ability to read your beautiful comic at all. GL with the kickstarter and nomination! :D
I’m on Firefox, and I also see something like this. (although for me there’s a blue band at the top before it gets to the black/grey, and it looks unintentional?)
We adapted the header slightly to make it work with the scaleable comic page, so it should adjust slightly as you adjust your browser size. It won’t look exactly the way it did before, but I think it looks kind of cool.
I’m guessing I’m not the first to say this, but:
To me, it’s very symbolic, that, when typed on my computer- “AL” looks a lot like, “a.i.”
AI = artificial intelligence. Hm.
I have finished all the pages in one day. I have to say this story is very impressive. I’m going to have an insomnia tonight.
His face is perfect. I wish that I could pull that face when I’m uncomfortable.
It’s the invasion of the people the Colonel doesn’t think of when he thinks of tech innovators!
Yay, clever and accomplished ladies! In your face, sexist jock Colonel!
Though it might be double stressful for Al, by the theory I brought up a few pages back re. externalization of his own unexamined frustrations as well as the unexpected crowd in his home.
