Page 62. Sulla’s usually very polite unless there’s science to be done.
I’m taking next Monday off to move house, with a new update on July 13. In the meantime there will be livestreams and a new sketchbook available on my Patreon!

I see that bite lip, Titus. You think that’s cool as all ever.
“Gonna go eat with friends, better bring a magnet.” Lol, Sulla is totallu Brendan’s daughter here!
Yesss it’s *adorable.* I love that Ruqiyo is also trying not to crack up.
So… I can’t remember if we got any detail on how synthetic persons are made: does Sulla have any part made of metal? I keep expecting something to go wrong and right now I’m expecting a magnet mishap to out her somehow.
My guess is that her skeleton would be made out of some sort of tungsten alloy. Very strong, very light, non-magnetic. Ferrous metals are generally really dense–they weigh too much to be worth their strength, so other alloys are used.
You may be thinking of titanium, which has the qualities you listed. Tungsten does dramatically increase the toughness of certain alloys, but it’s almost twice as heavy as lead.
Titus understands that the social contract means nothing when Science needs to happen.
metaceryn, Sulla _was_ patterned off an antisocial uber-geek.
Also, I’m going to be sad if nothing sticks to my magnet when I go home and crush a bag of cereal tonight.
I mean, of course. What could possibly be more important than SCIENCE?
Holy shit, you can do that?
Titus nearly has star-eyes here.
I think Blue has nailed “aghast” here. And yeah, Titus is blown away.
titus likes em nerdy
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V265pGgsBnM this (less impressively) in action though for iron fortified food.
That music is like a hipper, chiller version of the “This Machine Destroys Everything” music.
So now I’m curious if in the future their foods are WAY more iron fortified, for it to be visible like that, or just artist’s interpretation. (Given how the very informative video you linked showed the amounts in out cereal requires a 100x magnification power to see, except for that wiggling bran flake, wow…) Thanks for linking the video/showing this in our current day!
Well, the video only used a small amount of cereal, not a whole bag. And Sulla’s magnet may be more powerful, too. But yeah, there’s probably some artistic license.
omg the straight up HORROR on their faces. You’d think this was something new.
Is it really shock realizing there’s iron in the cereal we see here? To me, it looks like sheer horror/anger in front of what happened to her lunch rather than anything else…
I think for Erika it’s “Hey, you crushed my cereal!”, but for the other girl it’s more like “Eew, that was in the cereal?!”
I like Sulla’s attitude: Damn the torpedoes! Damn your cereal! THIS is for science! : )
Where all the worn-out processor gears and parts wound up!
Why it’s called Processed Food-like substance!
Fruits and veggies out of the ground should have lots less.
Much of our iron intake used to come from cooking in cast-iron skillets. Now we get more teflon than iron…
LOOK AT THIS FREAKING NERD
COOL!
I mean, I already know that food contains iron. Iron is beneficial to the functioning of the human body in the correct amounts, like many other elements.
Blood is red because it contains iron oxide. Get with it, people.
Hunh. I remember in elementary school fishing iron out of the sandbox. I never thought to look for it in cereal.
