It’s amazing how much a little thing like not being able to eat the foods you’ve always loved can really take the wind out of your sails and drive home the point that your life is going to be different now, for the foreseeable ever. For a while after, I had trouble even willing myself to eat — all I could think of was all the things I couldn’t have anymore.

I wonder if it’s also a bit of a bitter point with him? He troubled himself to eat so seldom in the days when he was tinkering, and now he can’t eat. Or, well, not without risking whatever kind of messy expulsion awaits androids who go for that kinda thing. (I guess we’ll find out soon, with the newest pages :’D)

… cut “70-90%” of what they normally consume? You’re talking self-starvation there, friend. Most people do not regularly eat 3-10 times of what they want: the stomach just can’t handle it. People should definitely not cut that much out of their diet — and certainly not on blanket principle like that. There are certain things that are commonly over-consumed, yes (red meat, simple sugars and animal starches [as opposed to plant starches]), but that doesn’t mean that an entire diet is wrong: simply that a little redistribution may be in order.

I have now read the entire thing from beginning to end. My only regret is that I now have another web comic to feed my daily addiction. :)

That’s what I’m hoping right at this minute…

Perhaps PC terms for robot people would be biologically challenged…or artificially enhanced. :)

I kinda see it more as two different sets of experiences instead of one group being more “alive”. Sure, robots can’t eat all the stuff humans can, but how many humans get to fly?
(of course, probably not that many robots get to fly either… Sulla seems pretty special…)
I wouldn’t mind being able to eat all sugar all the time, at any rate.

That’s one interpretation, but I disagree with it. There’s millions (if not billions) of people who can’t part take in the pleasures they’ve once had due to disability and disease (including for some a loss of taste), but they still have full, happy, meaningful lives. I’m sure they would not care to be seen as “undead.” The robot people in her can still experience many other things. :)

(Seriously, though, the level of emotion you communicate through your characters’ faces amazes me every time)
