Also, is it just me or does Sulla seem a little young for her age? She reads more like a precocious 12- or 13-year old instead of going on 16, but I’m betting she’s been kept fairly sheltered.
Everything is sugarized in the future, got that part right.

Silly question, since I’m sure it’s been asked elsewhere, what year is this comic supposed to be set in? I’m guessing 2017/2018 going by some of the dates in the flashbacks but it just occurred to me that I’ve never seen it actually established in the story. XD

What a grim future. Was no one who designed these machine people a Gourmand? Don’t they know that to make a person a person they need to experience life’s pleasures, such as occasional salty or savoury food? Sugar is such a limiting food.

Rereading this again, I am getting a strange sense of The story of Frakenstein. Colleague bringing back his friend/lover from the dead, and the resulting being a different and unique person. Unfortunately Dr. frankenstein’s experiment didn’t receive a loving and nurturing environment, and if the creation had a choice, it would have liked to have changed it’s appearance, or even worse, never been born. So that’s where a lot of the similarities ended, Sulla is blessed to have a caring father figure and the ability to be whatever her mind wants to be and push her limits.
