Y’know, I just realized what bugs me about this whole scene – I seriously doubt that libraries are still going to be places that you check out books during the timeframe of this comic. Certainly not for reading materials that have yet to be written.
I think libraries themselves will still exist in 100 years, but their very nature is changing RIGHT NOW to be more of a community gathering/study place where you have the availability of information-gathering resources that might not necessarily be at your disposal at home.
It’s still a good framing device for today’s readers, but I suspect that in 50 years it will seem just as quaintly dated as Star Trek referring to “data tapes” or the like.
While I understand your reasoning, the “present” for the comic is actually pretty close to our own present day: 2018 or 2019 (http://ohumanstar.com/chapter-2-page-11). Just to note this while I’m at it, the comic’s earliest date so far is: 2001 (http://ohumanstar.com/chapter-2-page-14). Apologies if I’m wrong on my dates here.
It looks like I am wrong on my dates! Going to the cast page (http://ohumanstar.com/cast) shows a comic timeline present of: February 2, 2021 (plus however many days have passed thus far…1 I think?).
Also: Groundhog day! XD Ha!
(´ー`)
Damn, my fanfic plot got screwed :D
CAN BE THURSDAY NAO?

Heh, Sulla has two daddies kinda!
Technically, Al does look like Sulla’s biological father. And he might really be.
Wonder how this will play out. Also, not suprised the Ty would thing that Al was her did, but I did it expect it.
Awww this is so great.
Holy cats, Erika. The double outline speech balloon? Yelling SO LOUD? It’s a dang library, you know.
