i would venture to say that luce and bren-bren may, at least, have a few years’ acquaintance between the two of them; they could even be good friends, at this point in the story
(it seems i am compelled to go back and look through the archives to see lucille’s other appearances…)
i don’t think her intention is entirely catty — i mean, she did just bear witness to the less-than-pleasant side of alistair’s: and this might be all the data al had ever presented the young lady
as i say: i will try not to let my “empathy” (nor my “in-universe” lust) blind myself from what any person is actually doing
it appears al is.. ..”doing bad,” even if it’s in spite of himself
I’m more worried about Brendan’s apparent intention to “fix” Al at this point, to be honest. Certainly Al could do with being a little less abrasive — but he’s also certainly got very good reasons for being the way he is, and if he wants to change than he and Brendan need to talk it over and work through it. It’s not Brendan’s job to “fix” him, not without discussing things with Al first, and definitely not this … secretive behind-the-scenes manipulation deal that seems to be implied. There is absolutely no way that can go well in a relationship.
Possibly I’m misinterpreting things, but while there definitely does seem to be a communication gap between Brendan and Alistair, Brendan wanting to “fix” Alistair is only going to drive a wedge between them.
Can’t stop, won’t stop
brendan acknowledged that there is a problem, at least
a reasonable problem that could, over time, be worked down into something manageable
yeah?
except..
..what’s this seed of doubt that now appears planted in brendan’s mind?
(thursday can’t come fast enough.
:-(.
i… …i actually would buy this as a book, just so i can find out what happens in this narrative, blue!)
This is to you Brendan, but keep in mind this is not about Al.

I just realized that Brendan is too short. What’s his height? If you say 5’5″ I’mma flip. lol
Luce needs to keep her nose out of Al and Brendan’s business! She’s starting to sound like trouble.
(but maybe I’m just defending Al!)
I wish we knew her well enough to tell if she’s genuinely concerned or just being catty. Probably the former but ehh…
