Of course, I for one wouldn’t let the opportunity of being a robot go to waste, but I certainly wouldn’t stop at one change for years at a time.

rights under state law. man. I hope we get to see some of the ways things have changed from Tsade declaring his independence up to now. not to mention the way Al and Sulla themselves will likely change things going forward! o brave new world indeed.

Well, in this case it kinda could be true. She’s had to deal with supposedly being the same as some old dude she’s never met her whole life. I’d search for some way I could be instantly distinct too. It’s much more than teenage rebellion, yes, but I think identity develops from a variety of sources, and wanting to be seen as a unique person can be one of them.

… Please don’t say things like that. Even if you meant it lightheartedly, it’s very disrespectful to transgender people to imply their experiences are “just teenage rebellion”.

*spoiler alert*

Considering what was revealed about their relationship in flash backs latter on, the question still stands. But I think Sulla’s choice of being remade a girl has more to do with the fact that she was born a blank slate with a developed personality. I don’t know how the biology of the brain is transcribed on a digital mind nor how the biology of the brain affects the reason for the transexual phenomenon in the first place.

Even Brandon being gay him self, it’s quite amazing how people don’t understand the nature of other people’s inner experience and being. I wonder if there will be subtle hints later on to Al’s feminine side being expressed?

Considering how privet Al was and the possibility, as suggested, that he was a virgin till he was almost 40 its possible that aspect of Al’s experience was very privet. But it’s unlikely cause transexuals have a hard time ignoring the nature of their feelings. Even as a gay man my self, its extremely difficult to be dishonest about who and what I am at the core of my being.
