Especially considering that flipped table and the note on the bed. Just what isn’t Al being told [or aren’t we being told?] … ?

The best non-conspiracy theory I can think of at the moment is: Brendan and Al had a fight (leading to the flipped table and the note on the bed); they both went out separately to cool off when Al’s — ahem, “illness” — caught up with him; Al staggered home to find Brendan still out, and collapsed on the bed as we saw. But who likes non-conspiracy theories? That still doesn’t explain why he’s been brought back, or how, or by whom.

But if that’s the case, Brendan likely blames himself for Al’s death [if he’d been home, if Al had gotten medical attention more quickly…]. Oh dear …
