i know all about peoples’ getting hung up on and bothered by those labels, as i know about peoples’ also being ‘versatile’ between one another.
:-)
…but, just as it’s possible those two guys might be more complicated, they also might not be.
and it entertains me, to think that the little guy, himself, doesn’t fall within the stereotyped-dynamic which typically enumerates such a pairing.
though, to turn my own caveat against me: it is equally possible that al and brendan may play out the typical sexual role, associated with a lil’ guy/big guy.
we don’t know if blue was using that one instance to portray but one aspect of bren and al’s sexual relationship or if blue was, indeed, attempting to establish that that is the gist of the direction of their sexy times.
(which, in their universe, may matter just as much as any other not-negligible aspect.)
anyway, even a dense guy can readily observe that brendan has much more overall confidence, than our introverted, not-gentle giant, alastair.
I love speaking in front of crowds – presentations, training, what-have-you – but there is always ‘that ten minutes’ right before when I’m sweating, freaking out, in utter panic-mode… then I walk out on stage, or to the head of the conference room, and all that fear melts away. Other ‘corporate trainer’ types I’ve talked to have all had the same experience.
There is just so much damned awesome on the last two pages!
Ha! I have the same thing.
This last weekend I was playing at my friend’s wedding – I was the wedding march, totally solo. For about an hour before the ceremony I was fretting and babbling and making excuses for the horrible performance to come. But then, as the bridal car arrived and the wedding guests took their seats in the church I just… stopped. I was calm, focussed, and confident. And the music went perfectly :)
I love the panels here, and Brendan having Al’s back <333
And BAM. When the spotlight’s on, Brendan’s CEO instinct takes over and it’s Al’s turn to panic.
Man, look at Brendan’s face. He’ so Zen right now.
OMG! Brendan, you’re so young and awesome!!!
Oh I totally agree with that one. Young, gorgeous, and awesome.
I just got the dokis.
Daawwww…..
´seems like the little guy is quite the natural at taking the lead.
so now that makes me wonder if brendan is, in fact, the top, while al’s the bottom..
..hmm. . . . .
IRL roles are more complicated than this whole top/bottom stuff…
. . . . .yes, yes.
i know.

If you go back into the pages, there’s a part where it is clearly shown that Al is not the top.
Not that it actually matters…

** even a dense guy like me
(tee hee)
Brendan does seem to take the league romantically and sexually, though. He does have more experience than Al.
bren-bren can be the perpetual aggressor.
:-D
a versatile guy who is the “top.”
al can be the versatile guy who may be either aggressive (in accordance to his stature) or passive, in regards to letting another guy take charge.
…
al’s still a question mark.
Precious babies. Great page, Blue.
Oh God… Blue, you NAILED it!
