Page 57. Take a good look.
Welcome to a new year for O Human Star! I’ve added a link in the menu bar to the new OHS forum moderated by long-time commenter Rosie. Feel free to check that out if you’re looking for a more structured place to discuss things.
Al’s “resurrection” is still a mystery, but I’m very glad the copycat did such a beautiful work… I’m with Brendan on this one : shirtless Al is jaw-droppingly sexy.
I don’t think Brendan was jaw-dropping at sexiness. I think he saw the scar (or whatever the blue lines on Al’s arm are).
I agree. Those old cut scars are telling.
I like that community is a bit more involved than before with the new forum. I like how a long-time community member now runs the forum, especially Rosie. I think she interesting in the best way.
I know the obvious joke of panels 5-6 is Brendan would be going “oh no he’s still really hot” but I’m also noticing something else… are those scars above Al’s armpit?
I’m waiting for some weird twist where Al somehow made his new body, that or Sulla did.
I get the feeling the Sterling robots realize how much Brandon cares for them and, if they are all based off Al’s original brain scan, gathered together every bit of Al’s mind and “recreated” Al for him.
And wow, did they do a great job. “Hello nurse!”
yeah, those blue skritches on ally’s arm concern me as well
if i ask ya about it, and i get no reply, i can only assume the skritches do, in fact, have story-line significance, miss blue
:-D
have i forced you into a corner, now?
I’ll say this much – this is not the first time you’ve seen them in the comic.
Looking back, I see it in the last panel of chapter 2, page 60. Wonder if it’s anywhere else?
Christmas is over, but the gifts keep coming. More chest hair!
I think I know what those lines under Al’s arm mean… and if I’m right, I’ll be very sad. :(
Those look like stretch-marks.
Not many people get to see or notice one’s stretch-marks, especially in spots like that. Never mind having them recorded perfectly.
That has some interesting implications, if they are in fact stretch-marks and they were something Al had in life. I’m going back through the comic to find out now :V
Found it.

I don’t think they’re stretch marks. They’re pretty evenly spaced and consistent. I feel like stretch marks are usually more jagged and organic. (and more ‘vertically’ oriented, if my hips and thighs are anything to go by).
The marks look like cut scars to me. I know a number of people who would cut their upper arms or thighs in order to better disguise what they were doing from people. Plus, on page 2:60, which you linked, you can see they’re only on his right arm. Unless he was greatly stretching the skin only on his right side for some reason, it doesn’t make sense that they wouldn’t be at least semi-mirrored.
And if you notice on page 2:62, he’s using the screwdriver with his left hand, indicating he’s left-handed, which would be consistent with using the dominant hand to injure the opposite side.
I kind of hope I’m wrong. :(
Wow ! Deduction worth of Sherlock ! I’m honestly in awe.
Hmm, good eye. It’s looking to me less like the scars have any symbolism by themselves, so much as the fact that “Al 2.0’s” manufacturer knew they were there.
Found it!
Chapter 2 Page 60.
this site is a little weird now, it wasn’t like this before
vertical ad on top of the comic wtf?!
1) I want to board that beefbus.
1a) It’s always terrible to be attracted to a body that’s uncomfortable for the person inside it.
2) Selfharm scars? that’s something no one would know about Al unless…
3) Welcome back Blue! I missed these guys
…ooh. You’re right, whoever created Al must have known the scars were there… I have a theory that copying a mind makes that person’s memories readable, which could explain how Al’s creator knew, seeing as Al would have memories of those scars. Otherwise, who knows how someone might know about those scars?
MORE! I need more….. :-)
THANK YOU!
page 60 in the last panel is where the same marks are but i dont think they mean anything.
http://ohumanstar.com/chapter-2-page-38/
well, it is also of note that al has another “compulsion,” such as it is
http://ohumanstar.com/chapter-2-page-41/
“…that you didn’t have your hands on.
“and now this, also, has your cooties.
“(dangit.)”
http://ohumanstar.com/chapter-2-page-42/
is that a look of surprise, or of indignant disbelief, in panel 2?
and, of course: http://ohumanstar.com/chapter-2-page-47/
======
´seems bren-bren knew about the ‘skritches’ also
——
blue, you’re doing a superb job with pacing your story, since i have no further desire to speculate on it
you do have a lot of power in your hands, at any rate; though i’m sure you’ve already, at the very least, plotted out the basic details of ‘o human star’
Like dem pecs boy!
I’m 95% sure the creator must’ve been Sulla. Who else has access to everything – the technology, the resources, the nitty-gritty details of his body, the pocketknife… I’d be surprised if it wasn’t her.
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Oh my god ok what if the person who made Al was a *copy of Brendan.* He would have to be a recent copy, or one who was able to update his memories or have memories recent enough that he would have known where the multi-tool was (I mean who knows how long that was in that drawer, right?), but it would explain… well okay, not *so* much, but it would fill in some of the gaps.
Realizing Brendan has not been laid in 16 years. Must be painful, if you have got used to that sort of thing.
