Be careful with what you’re asking, Brendan.
I’ve always wondered if you were – secretly a girl? Come on Brendan. There’s a difference between maybe liking guys, and being female.
Considering what was revealed about their relationship in flash backs latter on, the question still stands. But I think Sulla’s choice of being remade a girl has more to do with the fact that she was born a blank slate with a developed personality. I don’t know how the biology of the brain is transcribed on a digital mind nor how the biology of the brain affects the reason for the transexual phenomenon in the first place.
Even Brandon being gay him self, it’s quite amazing how people don’t understand the nature of other people’s inner experience and being. I wonder if there will be subtle hints later on to Al’s feminine side being expressed?
Considering how privet Al was and the possibility, as suggested, that he was a virgin till he was almost 40 its possible that aspect of Al’s experience was very privet. But it’s unlikely cause transexuals have a hard time ignoring the nature of their feelings. Even as a gay man my self, its extremely difficult to be dishonest about who and what I am at the core of my being.
Maybe Sulla’s just teenage-rebelling against her gene-father’s Y chromosome.
… Please don’t say things like that. Even if you meant it lightheartedly, it’s very disrespectful to transgender people to imply their experiences are “just teenage rebellion”.
There is no polite way to ask a man like Al if he might have been transexual under different circumstances.
